Still unsure that the material that they have to work with is as good as was advertised. They may be making silk purses out of sows' ears as it is.
There are so many placeholders on the roster it's hard to pick through it but Bedard, Reichel, and Kurashev have all gone backwards. Vlasic seems to have avoided falling into that vortex.

What of Rockford? Big struggles down there right now too. It's not pretty.

I agree with the view that Valiquette is one of the most consistently stupid analysts in hockey and can't objectively analyze anything that involves the Rangers. Even his co panelist is staring at him like he's damaged.
As much as I hate to admit it, he kinda has a point tho. Should have been a galvanizing moment for the Rangers having the other team’s player stylin and profiling on your goalie like that. Esp 5 minutes into the game when you’re already getting boatraced.

And I also think he’s got a point that Hughes would have been better off playing it “straight up” vs doing what he did. Probably not a high percentage play going against the best goalie in the world

Surely Jack has never deked igor into his own net in a playoff game.

^^ Yeah he should’ve tried that instead of trying to score with one hand a la Forsberg
If you try the same thing every time it doesn't work. It's a very similar move, with one going to the forehand and one going to the backhand.

Anyways Jack has 8 goals in his last 8 regular season games vs Shesterkin. I think his current approach to putting pucks past him works just fine.
