Is is strictly to try and allow them to pad their stats? Bizarre.

Bednar really only has one productive line, so not much of a choice. Sort of like how McDrai always gets put together when the Oilers are down.

Same reason McDavid and Draisaitl played almost the entire last 3-4 minutes against Florida tonight, to try and win the game.

Bednar likes to run Mack, Makar and Rantanen into the ground. The play 22+ minutes a night unless the Avs have a big lead. Which is why they're usually burnt out by February.
