Out of curiosity, was there a penalty given on this play? I'd guess not.

Yeah, I don't think it matters if the goalie is out of the crease, but what are you supposed to do if a defenseman rides you into the goalie? Never get near the goal? The way the rule is written there is way too much left up to the referee to decide.

3 penalties against, outshot 12-2, goal called back and some sloppy play aside from all of that. What a terrible first period.

im absolutely sick and tired of this ********. This is at least the 4th perfectly good goal waved off because of completely phantom goalie interference for TB in 30 games.

Holtby takes himself completely out of the net and then Orpik pushes Callahan on top of him and Stamkos ends up scoring. First of all Stamkos easily scores there even if no contact was made with Holtby. Secondly Orpik is the one who pushed Callahn into Holtby. Nothing Callahan can do there.

Caps complain, Orpik of all people, and refs have a huddle and after a lengthy discussion decide it's no goal because of goalie interference. We need coaches challenges now, not next year. Unbelievable.
