Winnipeg's D is BAD. Worst thing for them is that they are all locked up and Byfuglien just signed a Phaneuf type contract.
Trouba is probably regretting not taking the long term deal. He's like Larsson, not much in terms of offense. A decent #3 is his ceiling. If he continues playing like this, his value is tanking and he's not getting 5.5M any time soon.

Matthew Tkachuk with the playmaker on 3 primaries tonight. He doesn't get nearly enough love for what he's doing with Calgary with all eyes cast towards the group in Toronto and Laine. 15 points in his first 27 games. Not. Too. Bad.

He's been great. The Backlund/Tkachuk/Frolik line is what kept the Flames from free-fall when Gaudreau went down, and he's far from a passenger on that line. I've been consistently impressed with some of the really smart plays he makes along the boards every game. He's got a great mind for the game.
