Thanks for the informative reply. You mention his offensive abilities, which I see.He had a really good year in DC last year. He really stepped up once Carlson went down. His surplus value was like 4M! But he was only on a 1 year deal and was included in TDL deal to TOR that netted us Sandin.
Besides Sandin, there are several young LDs in the system that need a look. So, I don’t think there was ever a thought he’d come back. Not sure what NY is paying him, but it made sense that he would follow Lavi there.
He’s definitely underrated, and keeps moving around despite being very good offensively, and better than you’d think defensively.
I think his poise and good judgement, for example pinching when it looks like the right time, is really good. Cap Hit is only $825,00.
With a Cap Hit of $825,000, it sure is nice to see him there considering some of the Dmen the Rangers have had in the last while like Nemeth, Hajek, and a couple of others.
Sounds like a good reason for the Capitals not resigning him, always good to develop and give the youth their chance.
