I like these types of “retools” over flat out rebuilds where you just crush the mentality of your entire roster while trying to collect high picks.

Now of course there is no perfect recipe for fixing a team but staying competitive while still collecting decent picks is far more exciting to watch.
Also we're winning in large part because of our younger players. Wolf (23) is now near the top of the league in SV% at .925. Bahl (24) has been incredible for us. Zary (22) was our best forward early on, Coronato (21) has been quite good since being called up, Pospisil (24) has had some impactful moments, Pachal (25) is showing himself to be a steady bottom pair guy.

Andersson (27) has been our best player, if we do end up trading him, he's doing nothing but raise his value.

Also, Wolf has to be in the Calder conversation at this point, right?

You have to be careful though because Holland called what he was doing in Detroit “retooling on the fly” when what it really was is mortgaging the future to be first round fodder in the playoffs year after year.

I'm hoping we get a Shesty/Wolf dual on Thursday.

Or Wolf/Quick since Quick was Wolfie's favorite goalie growing up
Quick has been focussed and dependable. So impressed by his leadership and play. I would be good with Quickie on Thursday night. Whatever the matchup turns out to be, hope it's a good game.

Is Wolf full time #1 or sharing w Vladar?
They've been platooning, but Huska has played each in consecutive games when they've played really well. If he starts Thursday it'll be the first time one has started 3 in a row, but it'll be hard to sit Wolf as he's been so good in his last 3 games. He might have had back-to-back-to-back starts already if we didn't play a B2B on Monday and Tuesday of last week.

His last 3:

I would expect it to be close, we've only played 2 games this year that wasn't a 2 goal or less difference before EN goals.

I've seen enough Flames hockey this season to be quite respectful of them. Their very good goaltending tandem is also a big plus so far.
