The play today did not have any effect on Sorokin making the save. The one you posted clearly did.

They got both calls right.

That being said, I would not have been surprised had they called the Seattle goal a NO goal. Nor would I have had a problem with it.

I'm gonna keep saying this as it is 100% relevant. STAY OUT OF THE CREASE.

That was actually the right call in the Caps-Leafs game.

Unless Dowd was pushed into the crease (a little unclear as the Leaf player kinda falls down), that goal will always be disallowed because Dowd makes contact with the goalie in the blue.
