What's crazy is that statistically the game he gave up 4 goals to you guys he played better. The Rangers' xGF was like 5 or 6 goals lower this game. That was our defensive improvement.

Yea, apparently the Caps had an xG of almost 9 in that game. That is unheard of.

The Rangers were really flat most of that game and hung Igor out to dry. For giving up 4 goals, he was still spectacular!

Depends on what site you use, but apparently according to evolve hockey that was the second most expected goals against given up by a team in the analytics era that started in 2007.
