I'm still amazed that the Kraken are the first game to open the North America part of the season and it's in Seattle. I wonder what the schedule maker was thinking there.

I find that the NHL looks at the MLB for some pointers in the past. This scheduling seems like it is a MLB move; I hope they realize MLB isn't the look they should be going for.

You did... they announced him as C. Also, watching the game it seems like the Kraken haven't gotten much star power since expansion. Ron Francis is such a Whaler at heart.

MLB playoff game attendance is not great this year (probably last year too). That league is the epitome of out of touch. NHL needs to not take pointers from the MLB imo.

I was coming to say pretty much that. This broadcast keeps calling Utah's game "the first game in franchise history." Is it? Is it really? It's the Coyotes organization in a new city.
