IDK when is the last time a franchise player of Stamkos's caliber had a return game? Chara kind of but he also bounced around before Boston. Giroux wasn't on the Stamkos-tier. Alfredsson maybe similar import but was totally cooked even before he let go. Other than that I've got Modano?

As for the Stamkos tier, he could score in his prime but always seemed to be more of a complementary guy than a player who makes the players around him better.

It doesn’t surprise me at all that Nashville may not be a very good fit.
