That pretty easily should have been a goal and not taken so long to decide

You can't be in the crease and impede a goalies path to moving forward to cut down the angle of a shot. There doesn't need to be contact, because you're already limiting the goalies potential movements to make a save.

nah that's bull, you can't just assume a goalie is impeded when he literally made no effort to use that space. If that's how it's meant to be called they may aswell just start calling crease violations. That's why vets like Fleury create that contact and leave no room for question

That's not true anymore. If the shot is coming from the blueline on the left, you're standing in the left side of the crease and the goalie leans right to look, the assumption is the goalie would slide left and forward. Obviously with the player there the goalie will either slide into the player and make contact or be forced to slide left towards their crease and avoid contact. Goalies shouldn't be punished because they made the split second decision to avoid contact because the attacking player limited their choices.

The crease is the goalie's territory. Attacking players can't be in there unless the puck is. 99 times out of 100 that will be considered interference. Perry had every chance to leave the crease, but he didn't.

I must admit, the goaltender obstruction rule is increasingly becoming a farce; it seems no one truly understands what constitutes obstruction these days. That was indeed a legitimate goal.

Perry wasn't in the crease, that was a good goal Toronto blew it!!!

I don't think Toronto looked at it. It looked like just the refs and their ipad

Another good goal erased by an 'offside' that didn't affect the rest of the play in any way shape or form. Screw Matt Duchene for messing up hockey with his one time grossly offside goal that changed the NHL forever when it comes to disallowing goals because of an 'offside'.

Yes as usual Buttman doesn't have the guts to do the right thing and fire that linesman and all useless incompetent linesmen.
