If you move at the last second and take yourself out of the way but leave your knee behind, when the other player doesnt stick their knee out or anything.

Its not a bad play.

Maybe Zary should learn to take his leg out of the way.

We'll see if you keep the same energy next time McDavid or Draisaitl try a move inside and some plug blows up their knee. I know what I would bet on.

Helleson isn’t really a plug he’s done pretty well at the nhl lvl to be honest.

I get your a bit emotional, sucks that Zary got hurt. You got the 5 mins and the misconduct…. What more could you possibly want.

Get a clue. That is just an example of an accidental collision. if a player makes a hit and it goes wrong he is responsible.

It was def penalty worthy, and I’m even okay with a 5 mins penalty + misconduct. I don’t think it was intentional, nor do I think it was particularly dirty…. Watched it a few times and not sure Zary did himself many favors, nor do I know what helleson is supposed to do there.

Unfortunately it seems like a bit of a grey area in the league amongst fans (when reality it shouldn’t be)…. As fans we’ve all seen very similar plays happen to our guys go uncalled.


But hopefully Zary is back soon, never a good thing when a young promising player gets injured.
