So the a Wild decided they're gonna cheat tonight are they. How many missed calls you gonna get
Are you crying because your own player pushed a Wild player into your goalie who was outside the crease, and then they scored after he was up and fully set anyway?

I certainly hope not, because that would be really sad.

Matthews 7 pts in 3 games

Fact they were 1st in the division without him, this team is scary

The poster was comparing conferences based on team points and where Utah would rank, fair to mention the 3 worst teams by that metric are in the West. And Anaheim isn't one of them. The cup contenders comment is just meh
Fair enough but it takes more than just looking at their points, no? There should be more to that IMO. I think overall the West is stronger this year and it's not that close.

The East has far more of those middling teams that have no business being in the playoffs, and the West has Chicago and San Jose bringing up the rear. The upper tier is where the West is significantly better though. Pittsburgh and Montreal should not be anywhere near the playoffs if the East was deeper.

Does anybody track getting waived out of faceoffs? I want to see how far ahead Draisaitl is in 1st.

Pittsburgh shouldn't be. Montreal should be. They were terrible while MSL input a winning defensive system and before they got Liane and Carrier (which solidifies the defense) Habs are not deep so any injury or injuries to their top players will derail them. Habs a re a borderline playoff team.

Wings outplaying ottawa, down a goal after losing their good goalie. Talbot gave up two softies (one goal from his own player).

I didn't make the original claim, but agree. Think the better conference arguments are always juvenile.

Nashville as well

Keefe had them playing the right way in the RS as well. I don't think the RS means anything to the Leafs, nor their fans anymore. We will see what happens in the Playoffs.

Never this consistently. This is different because the Leafs have always been hit or miss, 2nd, 3rd, wildcard bouncing around all year. They've been first in the division since basically end of October

Is that's so it's certainly understandable.

But in the fans defence .....the RS is all they've ever had.

If they can keep up their play of late, perhaps. But that -14 GD on the season still paints an ugly picture.

I mean, I agree it's been impressive what they've done without AM and to an extent Stolarz as well. But in the past 16 games they've played 6 PO teams and are 3-3. They have middle of the road underlying numbers. I don't watch every game like you do so if you are liking what you're seeing I'll take your word for it. I just think we've been here before with this team. They have been a very good to elite team for a long time now in the RS.

I think it is more like, before they would stay in games scoring goals. They'd dig themselves a hole and then score 4-5 goals in 25 minutes and win or get a point.

This year they are winning games with strong goaltending, structure that keeps games from getting out of hand on them, and grinding out wins. It has been everywhere from picture perfect to ugly, but they continue to win.

It feels like the base of the team is different. What is winning them games is different.
