...as a Habs fan, we need Utah to pull it together and beat the Pens...so they can catch up to Calgary and knock them out of the Playoffs...so the Habs get a better 1st, since they own Calgary's...so LET'S GO YOO-TAW!!!... 🤣

Wonder how long before berube is fired for quenneville
I know this is in jest but was Berube this bad with the Blues? This is by far the most stiff, boring hockey we have seen in Toronto in a long long time.

I know they won a cup.. was it just talent meshing at the right time and a goalie playing out of his skin? I don't really see anything interesting whatsoever and that is basically every aspect of the game.. faceoffs..NZ, O zone. specials , player usage.. matching..

The only calling card he seems to have is that he likes giant D to protect his net.

...welcome to Berube Hockey 101...yup, it can work, even perhaps win a Cup, but don't cut the cameras to the fans in the seats, cuz they may be napping...

That’s my understanding. In fairness to Berube the leafs aren’t exactly built to play his style of hockey, which makes the hire that much more baffling.

Seems like they just wanted some old school hardass and didn’t really consider whether or not his systems would be a good fit for the personnel they’re pot-committed to.

Berube coaches with an attitude that the regular season is little more than an extended practice for the playoffs, and playoff hockey is heavily defense-oriented. So, while is awful to watch during the regular season, it is designed for deep playoff runs. FWIW, I think he has Toronto on the right path, but whether they have the players to pull it off is another issue.

Trust me, we know in Vegas, as Cassidy coaches the same style. Heavy defense and outright painful to watch during the regular season.

Tried to give it time, really, but this is unwatchable most nights and if our goaltenders don't pitch a shutout or allow just 1... we are in trouble.

Well - I guess we have to see how the students perform at exam time.
