Nah, the panel called them out though

The Leafs coach also pointed out the bad calls but you're picking and choosing what he said
Canucks get bad calls all the time but at the end they try to overcome that. If you are that flustered about bad call or non calls then your team wont win much in playoffs since they are weak mentally just like some of their fans.

That makes no sense.

Canucks also lose games and complain about officiating.

I want fair calls both ways for every game. The NBA literally implemented the last 2 minute report in response to an official caught betting on games.

The NHL has no such accountability because Bettman believe hockey officials have more integrity than basketball officials. Does that make sense to you?

We literally had an official 'retire' because he was caught on a mic making a phantom penalty against a player because he wanted to call something for game management. Yet, still, we have no way of holding referees accountable with an impartial review of penalties for the officials to be judged by.

Yeah, that could happen and has happened.

But why are we not allowed to hold officials accountable? Why are some fans so against the idea that a referee needs to call the game properly? That's literally their job.

Nobody is against the refs calling the game properly. We all question this or that call or non-call. It's just not worth going on about for hours after a game ends. I can tell you I know Trocheck was tripped, but that was years ago and not worth bringing up in this thread.

Of course because this thread is about today's games - which is what we're talking about. If you wanted to talk about 2 year old calls - start your own thread.

For things in today's games - it's fair game.

Because nothing has changed for decades and it won't in future. Whining about it on these boards certainly won't change that

How about a thread on the mains:
NHL officiating is inconsistent for the 10th straight decade! Cause for concern??

So what is the purpose of these boards if not to discuss hockey?

I don't think anything we talk about on these boards will change the NHL.

That call was closer to a decade ago. I don't care to talk about it, it was meant as an example that calls are missed, we've heard your take, and said our piece. But go on. 4 to 1, you say?

Y'all need to wrap up this discussion. Bad calls are a part of every sport, the missed pass interference calls in the NFL, the missed obvious foul in the NBA, the bad "went around" swing call in the MLB, etc. Sometimes your team will win because of bad calls, and sometimes your team will lose because of it. You accept it as part of the game and move on to the next one.

If you can't deal with that then you need to find some other form of entertainment.

You keep responding to it so I assume you're interested

So basically you've given up on the idea that officiating can improve and that bad officiating should be embraced?

I'm sure you'll bring it up on the next bad called game against your team though.
Oh sure, over the long run and it has in fact improved with video review. But it is not going to improve between now and the next game.
