...you don't know if he's hurt or injured...it was a dirty play and he could have seriously injured Byfield...and again, if you don't understand how that could have injured his larnyx (throat in general, really) than you didn't do as well as you tyhink you did in regards to Physics...or your teacher sucked and you didn't learn much...

Rofl....what do expect to get out of these what ifs but never dids? the stick wasn't across the back of his neck like you said. it wasn't across the throat like you said when youand deferred to with the what ifs.

I admit it was a dumb play....but let's not make into something it wasn't.

once every year im like man, it wouldbe so cool if McDavid won a cup

Then the oilers remind me they’re the most unlikable squad in the game since the 2011 Canucks and I hope he stays miserable
They’re going nowhere. At the end of the day. A zero cup legacy sounds just fine to me.

...that take is soo ridiculous...LOTS of guys (and girls) have walked back to the Room on their own and have been out for MONTHS because of injury...sad...
What's ridiculous and sad is arguing with someone who's optimistic that he's not injured as if you're optimistic that he is.

Not just McDavid and Draisaitl. They're missing NINE regulars including two of the top four players in the world, and their best defensemen in Ekholm.

To think that this game reflects in any way what game 1 of the playoffs is going look like is absurd
Even healthy the oilers have looked bad on most nights for awhile now and only McDrai and Eckholm hurt the team by not playing.
Sadly for oiler fans #97 hasnt been his usual self, the defense sucks and so does the goaltending.
Seems like the only way this team will win is when one or both carries the team on its back, covering up the massively flawed roster construction and both not 100% and only #29 seemingly capable of that this year, I think today's game is possibly a very real representation.

Rule 78.5 (Disallowed Goals) and Rule 37 (Video Review) in the NHL Rulebook. Once a shootout attempt is ruled "no goal" and the next shooter takes their attempt, the play is considered dead, and the original ruling cannot be overturned. The officials’ decision on the ice stands unless video review is immediately initiated before the next attempt begins. If the puck crosses the line but is missed, and play continues with the next shooter, it’s too late to reverse the call. No goal.

And apparently the NHL is always clueless because someone remembers them changing a goal after several atempts in a Habs Ducks game around 2011. Habs got screwed there too but won the shootout.
Imagine being this mad that you have to type up a false rulebook entry lmao

Hoes mad

...it was REPORTED that he was injured and wouldn't return, we just don't know the severity yet...how much clearer do you need it??...
I don't think that it's clear that he's injured just because they claimed it and he didn't return. There's so much on the line here and a little gamesmanship isn't out of the question. After the decision comes tomorrow, we might see him suddenly declared good to go for the Seattle game. I certainly hope so.
