Man, how does that penalty get called on Chicago with a few mins to go? Probably the weakest call I've seen all season. Good for Montreal for taking advantage and getting a point.

That said, Chicago took it to them and deserved the 2 points. Bedard looked pretty good as did Nazar. I came away impressed with their youth in this game and their d-core is going to be massive. I think people are sleeping on them as a team; one or two more good pieces and they can definitely be in the hunt for a WC spot in a couple years.

I think if Montreal makes it in, their defensive zone is going to let them down. They fold like butter in front of their own net and behind their net.

Out of curiosity, were the Habs obligated to have Laine shoot? I mean, conceivably could they have pulled Laine and replaced him with another shooter had they known of that goal immediately?

I'm reasonably certain that teams aren't required to announce who's shooting in advance, so there's that. Although if the official puts the puck at center ice and blows the whistle to signify the start of a penalty shot/shootout attempt, you can't change who's out there to take it anymore.

Need to find a coach for sure.

You should watch the game. 4 min high stick on Gallagher ignored. Who gives a shit if they finally call one.

Next big game on the docket?
Kings and The Oil.

They will play for the umpteenth time in the postseason, but, home ice is still to be determined.
Big-ish. Oil are missing McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, Ekholm, Walman (and Kane/Frederic).

Basically 2/3rds of their top 6 and their best defenceman.

Even if the Kings lost today, I don’t think they lose to both Seattle and Calgary in their final two.

So then, really, the delayed call interfered with every decision following.

They give then refs the 1st 3 players. Not sure if they can make a change.
