Because the optics of Laine getting a second try to score (and possibly scoring) would be even worse, and very funny.How does Laine not get a do-over?
The whole dynamic of the game changes with a goal.

Somebody, somewhere would have been.What if Laine scored? Would you still be pushing for a do over?
El Jefe doesn't do a good mood. Imagine watching Lafleur play for your team 40+years ago just to be reduced to hate watching.Buddy be in a good mood. Your team is still in charge of their playoff destiny
Yeah some are like that. God knows we had them types during the cup run. But I’d be happy as shit with Demidov and that top line. Plus HutsonEl Jefe doesn't do a good mood. Imagine watching Lafleur play for your team 40+years ago just to be reduced to hate watching.
Out of curiosity, were the Habs obligated to have Laine shoot? I mean, conceivably could they have pulled Laine and replaced him with another shooter had they known of that goal immediately?
"That loser Bobby Orr scored again, worthless POS!"El Jefe doesn't do a good mood. Imagine watching Lafleur play for your team 40+years ago just to be reduced to hate watching.
Bullshat. if they are going to chanje a call after laine has started they can do that too;Because the optics of Laine getting a second try to score (and possibly scoring) would be even worse, and very funny.
Need to find a coach for sure.Man, how does that penalty get called on Chicago with a few mins to go? Probably the weakest call I've seen all season. Good for Montreal for taking advantage and getting a point.
That said, Chicago took it to them and deserved the 2 points. Bedard looked pretty good as did Nazar. I came away impressed with their youth in this game and their d-core is going to be massive. I think people are sleeping on them as a team; one or two more good pieces and they can definitely be in the hunt for a WC spot in a couple years.
I think if Montreal makes it in, their defensive zone is going to let them down. They fold like butter in front of their own net and behind their net.
You are the one that brought it up. I was asking you.Somebody, somewhere would have been.
You should watch the game. 4 min high stick on Gallagher ignored. Who gives a shit if they finally call one.Man, how does that penalty get called on Chicago with a few mins to go? Probably the weakest call I've seen all season. Good for Montreal for taking advantage and getting a point.

Big-ish. Oil are missing McDavid, Draisaitl, Hyman, Ekholm, Walman (and Kane/Frederic).Next big game on the docket?
Kings and The Oil.
They will play for the umpteenth time in the postseason, but, home ice is still to be determined.
So then, really, the delayed call interfered with every decision following.I'm reasonably certain that teams aren't required to announce who's shooting in advance, so there's that. Although if the official puts the puck at center ice and blows the whistle to signify the start of a penalty shot/shootout attempt, you can't change who's out there to take it anymore.
Someone should break his legs!"That loser Bobby Orr scored again, worthless POS!"
noBullshat. if they are going to chanje a call after laine has started they can do that too;
The optics of changing a call after the next attempt started is worse.Because the optics of Laine getting a second try to score (and possibly scoring) would be even worse, and very funny.
The puck was clearly in on the Chicago goal. Laine missed. Hans stopped playing after they went up 2-0. They wasted a great Demidov game one.Bullshat. if they are going to chanje a call after laine has started they can do that too;
Oh well, the referees on the ice had a far more egregious missDamn…missed that..
They give then refs the 1st 3 players. Not sure if they can make a change.I'm reasonably certain that teams aren't required to announce who's shooting in advance, so there's that. Don't get me started on that pathetic slug GretzkySomeone should break his legs!
It’s notThe optics of changing a call after the next attempt started is worse.

Then, yeah...the Laine goal should have been disallowed and the Officials ridiculed for incompetence and stupidity.You are the one that brought it up. I was asking you.
