Really hoping we don't have to listen to the Oilers commentary tonight. Even without the inherent McDrai bias it's among the worst I've ever heard. Either 5 seconds late with random screaming, or not even talking about the game. It's such a frustrating watch. Radio will be playing and TV on mute if Singh or Michaels are on PxP.

its Saturday night. That means Singh in the in the second game. Jack is on 630ched tonight as always on Saturdays

This is false.
The RangersIskanders were tied after 3 periods. 1 point each awarded and yet no one has lost. Officially not a "loser point".
Then (in regular season only) the two team play a 5 minute sudden death for the extra point.

Should be half a point in my opinion......

Beat? We are getting murdered out there. 😅 And no, no rested players aka AHL-Team....

The Jets can plan the parade. Should be a short series. AVS are done after this beatdown today....
Shouldn’t the Avs keep Mac and Makar on the bench now though?

Congrats Dallas. That Jets/Avs series is a coin flip for me.
Jets dominate every game against the Avs this season. Jets leading 7-0 after two periods. Jets [probably] finish ahead of Colorado in the standings.

Conventional wisdom: it's a coin flip. Reason? Umm...MacKinnon!! Makar!! Conventional wisdom. No critical thinking skills.

3 games is a nothing sample.

*sigh* Thank you for the info.

I love what Singh has done for the game as a builder, and honestly would put him in the HoF for it because he's welcoming so many different people into the game. I've read his chapter in the NHL Builders book, and it's inspiring to think of how he got here with the unfortunate challenges he's had to face, and starting with Punjabi commentary. I also (rather ignorantly) didn't realize it's Vaisakhi, so yeah it makes sense to give it to him today of all days.

Just, as an outside fan, it's so frustrating to watch when the commentary cannot keep up with the play, and it seems that every Oilers chance is overshadowed by his late yelling. I believe he overdoes it when the Oilers score, and the "MCDAVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID" soccer yell is completely forced. Not to mention how deadpan he is when the other team scores, which sucks when we can't watch with our normal (and much better imo) crew. I want to love the commentary because he's by all accounts a phenomenal person and, again, he's done so much to help grow Sikh presence in the game. It's just not fun to listen to him as a non-oilers/flames fan. Loui Debrusk is another story, the guy can barely form cohesive sentences mid-play, let alone give real insight into the game.

You said “In no world did you ever get 0 points for a tie at the 60 minute mark” which is untrue. We aren’t arguing if the term “loser point” is correct terminology.

I love when people talk about sample sizes determining who'll win rounds or cups because the playoffs are inherently a small sample size. A 4-7 game set against a single opponent is highly dependent on how much luck each team has. I wouldn't overlook how good the Jets are right now, and confidence is a major thing.

How do Colorado players feel after getting absolutely murdered? Do they grip their sticks a little tighter or do they go back to their staples while hitting everything that moves?

Oh no that's scary, Jensen is out cold for the Capitals. The camera panned away from the hit super quickly so I didn't get a good look at it.

Avs were suppose to be a challenge

Man that's a tough hit to say if it was clean or not. I think that would technically fall under "boarding" in the definition but it seemed to be more of an unfortunate outcome than an illegal hit.
