He comes off the bench, touches the puck, initiates contact with a non-puck carrier. I understand reverse hits, but he hits a guy reaching for the puck who never actually touched it and launches upwards. It's an interference penalty. The fact that the refs called a 5 to review, and then DOWNGRADE to no penalty is honestly such a poor management of the game and the rulebook it's beyond stupid.Benson engaged him and Dahlin choked him from behind. I'm fine with the no call on that, as neither are good at fighting. But to make the play by Gaddy seem like headhunting is a stretch. He stepped on the ice, touched the puck, and a guy was coming fast directly at him. If Kulich steps left or right as he's skating at him, it's likely a Buffalo goal. Like I said, unfortunate.
Benson engaging doesn't automatically mean a penalty. Dahlin maybe I could see a 2 for a rouch but he didnt really punch him or anything. If you want to call 2 on Gaddy and 2 on Dahlin, fine. But nothing for Gaddy is absolutely inexcusable by the league. He isn't looking to do anything with the puck - he launches TOWARDS Kulich. That's a penalty
