This game reminds me of a time in some league where my team was in the final playoff spot and could only miss the playoffs if we lost all 3 remaining games and the team below us won all 3. In the 3rd-last game of the season, we got shutout by that team and started freaking out that we would choke and become the laughing stock of the league. It came down to the last game, but we did make it and actually won a playoff round
