You have to think that any NYR playoff hopes have been just about snuffed with this result.

Rangers have been "snuffed" ever since they thought they were clever by alienating then shipping guys out, starting with Trouba.

I like guys like Borgen and Soucy.....good solid defenders, but Trouba was better than those two for them, and I think they screwed around too much with locker room chemistry after that.

And how about them Blues?

I am in no way, shape or form a fan of that team, not even a pretend one (Binnington's a snivelly little man when things don't go his way :snide: ), but even I am mesmerized by their run.

Shades of 2019....and instead of the Blues worried about who they may get in Round 1, I think it's more like some division leader DOESN'T want to play the Blues.
Another hella run...very impressive.

Div leaders want no part of them.....not with the Wild or Flames possibly available.

Should the Rangers keep or give up their pick if it’s 11th-13th? Must give it up if it’s 14th+. Figure they keep a top 8 and probably top 10 pick.
I think the Rangers GM is just arrogant enough to use his pick and give up his unprotected 2026 first, because he believes his club (with his off season adds) will be a lot better next year. IMO that’s a bad move. That 2026 draft is supposed to be a lot better than this one. And the Rangers are an old core with nothing of relative significance coming along in the younger players. They could even be worse next season.

Two previous President's winners will be out of the playoffs.
Rangers had a really good opportunity to build a dynasty. They had elite experienced core players while having several years of drafting top ten. Was it four missed high firsts in a row? They hit on even half and it’s a totally different situation for them.
