Even if Ottawa were to make the playoffs, no one is expecting any kind of Cup contention anyway.

This whole process, playoffs or no, is about development of Ottawa's young players.

Obviously it would be fun to play an extra 4+ games, but a deep run is pretty unlikely at this point.
