I also have a plan for winning the Stanley Cup. I call it "let an actual NHL team do it, not me." It has worked 22 out of the 23 years I've been watching hockey, and the one year it didn't work, nobody won the cup anyway.

I mean, by definition, the Stanley Cup was awarded to an NHL team for winning a playoff tournament.
Whether you think it was a fair tournament or not (and therefore whether the team awarded the cup "deserved" it) is a matter of opinion. Judging by your post, I'm not sure if I'm interested in hearing your opinion on it.

Habs should be using those picks and whatever prospects they deem expendable or basically anyone not named Demidov to upgrade the roster as well as UFA.
You reach a certain point where you either shit or get off the pot and either take the next step or go through multiple rebuilds, like the Sabres.
The Habs need to aquire a true #1 Dman 25+ and a 2c and a 1G.
The latter two isn't a tall order and if the GM Hughes gets word that Dahlin is available than the Habs have the pieces needed to probably get him if Hughes has the balls to do it.
