No you don't understand the "Ottawa" method of rebuilding.

First you need to pretend your team is cup contenders every year. Then you wait 8 years with no playoffs. Then you have to lose to your divisional rival in three straight games, who also are rebuilding but much faster. Only then can you go on a message board and exclaim pity for said fans.

Oh and then also need to have that divisional rival's fans drown out your own and chant Go Habs Go in your own building.

Sens are well built for the playoffs. If they lose in the first round they’re going to build off it. Really solid makeup of the team. Making the playoffs is the goal of the season, not expecting to go far.

Habs on the other hand, are several pieces away. This year is a worst case scenario, they need more high picks on the team.
