Well, this did not age well.

That was clearly a goal for those familiar with the Continuation play rule. Not a controversial call at all.

It's really, really bad for me personally. I grew up in Arizona, and am one of those Coyotes fans who stuck with the team after relocating to Utah. When you're born and raised in Arizona, and are a sports fan (and sometimes even if you're not a sports fan), it's pretty much second nature to hate any and all things Los Angeles (or at the very least, you're resentful of them).

Here's a parallel, which my husband (who grew up in the Tampa Bay area) agrees with: imagine the Bolts are just a few points out of a playoff spot, and you have to hope someone like the Panthers wins, because they're playing against a team you're chasing in the standings.
