Yup. Dubas should never have traded important assets for EK. It was obvious to everyone that was a dumb move for an old club.

they didn't really give up that much in the grand scheme of things, dumped some bad contracts too. i think it was an OK move just turned out EK was not a great fit for the team. Should be able to recoup some picks if they want to trade him with retention

I have no strong opinions about Dubas. There's certainly an argument that he took his "mandate" to make the team competitive and did it wrong. But it can't be ignored just how hamstrung he was taking over from the Hextall regime, which single handedly set the team back a decade. Again, there's fair criticism to be made of Dubas, but at worst he further accelerated a downfall largely orchestrated by Hextall.

Sullivan, meanwhile, certainly deserves criticism. Of course, the roster is trash. But the team's inability to play anything resembling team defense, its mental weakness, and running a system that will *never* work with this group has to draw some criticism towards the coach.

It was obvious to everyone but Dubas that he wasn't a great fit and redundant with Letang. Signing Jarry and waiving him isn't a good look either. He slammed shut whatever windows they had left. He's stealing money.
