And yet McDavid has looked like a shadow of himself on far too many nights this year.

Personally, if he's fighting off anything, even a flu bug, he should be staying home and resting instead of playing in a completely meaningless "tournament" next week.

3-4 days can make a huge difference in a flu, blame Bettman for never giving him a chance to play for Team Canada in a tourney like this, of course he wants to play. Every kid growing up in Canada who give even a sliver of interest in hockey watched the 2010 Olympics, McDavid I'm sure was no different.

If you're still the no.1 PPG player in the league in the above conditions (empty net points are gravy points) and that is your "playing like a shadow of yourself" season, lol, you really are one of the greatest to ever do it.
