Many posters laughed at Detroit for hiring Todd McClelland. The Leafs spoiled his coaching debut with a 5-2 win on December 27th, but since then the Red Wings are 15-3-1.

Good for them. I’ve always had a soft spot for Detroit teams. I’m starting to see the Wings fanbase start to wake up around the league, there were a ton of red jerseys in Seattle last night.

They won’t ever be bigger than a resurgent Lions franchise (despite how their season ended). The Lions success has capitvated the city of Detroit and it will be tough for a good Wings team to be more prominent in their sporting landscape.

It's actually not so much that I want the Oilers to win, it's that I want the Blackhawks to lose. The Oilers winning would be simply a side effect of the Blackhawks losing.
