Cam Talbot had arguably his best season in 2016-17, where he finished high in Vezina voting and won a playoff round.
I was just using save % as a base. It’s an actual tangible stat.

The whole we would be better with X instead of Y argument is the exact same argument Oiler fans shit on Vancouver fans for when they say the same thing about Demko in the playoffs last season.

Yeah, and he had a .919 that season in 73 games...hence why he finished so high in Vezina voting. Because it was largely based on an actual tangible stat.

I'm not actually trying to shit on the Leafs win. I'm just venting that our idiot management and a segment of genuinely idiotic Oiler fans are content with what we have in net. The Leafs organization has done a better job with goaltending than ours and that's why they won tonight.

Skinner is just so inconsistent and unreliable. Edm needs a more consistent goalie. There’s enough of a sample size and he’s not a starter.

It seems odd but because the clock gets re-winded to the point of the offside, any plays that occurred after are null. The reason they likely used their timeout is because it's awfully risky, if they lose the challenge they are probably dead in regulation since they would go down 5 on 3
No if a player scores a goal but they don't call it a goal on the ice at the time and 29 seconds later a team takes a penalty but rh whistle goes because Toronto reviewed it and the puck went in the player who scored after the point of when the play would have been called dead still gets a penalty.

Klingberg ...lol. What was he doing on the ice anyway??. Pulled goalie final couple of minutes his night should be done. Goes off side on tieing goal. Turn over machine before that.

That should be the consensus now, yet the local media is avoiding the goaltending topic completely, and I just read this on HF Oil after tonight's game....

"So 5 goals on 95 shots. Is that a goaltending issue as well? What’s the shooting % there?"

Unreal. With "fans" like him who needs enemies? Apparently you can't win a game with three goals!

He would be number 3 on many teams.
Oilers have a cup in their future .....
but not with him as number one.( even though they dragged him to 15 wins last play offs.

He was alright. It was a nice play by Kampf to delay the zone entry for half a second, and it was still very close.

But, Talbot? I like the guy as w good at times goalie, but . . . Not sure why we're arguing it as the world burns.

Cap is going up a bit. Let's see if Connor allows goalie wiggle room
Just an example that switching goalies doesn’t guarantee a victory for a losing team. Statistically you can’t replace players and expect the exact same results.

Yeah, I'm not sure exactly what you are getting at, but teams do play differently in front of different goalies, if that's what you mean.
