They do when you watch with your eyes, and watch numbers and statistics where one team can sh** kick another for a prolonged amount of time. Guess what? Edmonton does that. For years. They also have been getting less and less calls now.

I don't know how else to explain it to you. You have a strong bias, which is ok.

This league will be shi**ing their pants if Edmonton nabs a good goalie.
That’s not how it works, but sure!

Cam Talbot is a prime example of this. Did better both before and after being in Edmonton. How a goalie performs is not linear for every time.

Toronto actually plays real NHL teams in the playoffs in the Atlantic.

They don’t play the coyotes, wait are they still an NHL team?
And that is why they likely won't get to the final. It's usually the team that gets the breaks and plays mediocre teams and/or teams that are crippled up by the time they play them. The team that gets to the Cup final from the west likely won't see a good team until the west final.

It was in 1967. The Leafs have not been to a final since then.

As for the rest of Canada...

Edmonton - 5 Cups; 8 Finals
Calgary - 1 Cup; 3 Finals
Vancouver - 3 Finals
Winnipeg - 3 Avco Cups (WHA Championship)
Ottawa - 1 Finals
Quebec - 1 Avco Cup
Montreal - Too many Cups and Finals to count...

Congrats on the win tonight, Leafs nation! Happy for you guys!

The Oilers have an easier path. They should have got swept by Florida but Bob finished with a lower save percentage than Skinner... and the Oilers still lost.
The Leafs are the same or worse quality than most of the teams the Oilers have beat in the playoffs. They don’t get past last years iteration of the Canucks or Stars. 50/50 against the Kings.

And we all saw what Florida did to them.

You can say that but the Oilers always struggle against the Leafs so it's tough to make a direct comparison. The one time they were in the same division a few years ago, the Leafs humiliated them multiple times and won the division.

That is absolutely hilarious. The Oilers would not even make the playoffs in the Atlantic.

Congrats on watching McDavid play his final season in Edmonton

Go Flames! Hockey is serious business.

Over 7 games and seeing how the Leafs got outplayed, out possessed and outshot in the absence of Ekholm, you should not be reassured. The saving grace might be the difference in goaltending.

The Oilers are 7-3-2 against the Atlantic. Vegas and Edmonton would both lead the Atlantic today. Such a poor quality troll.

Your are not counting Ottawa's 1927 Cup win?

Over 7 games and seeing how the Leafs got outplayed, out possessed and outshot in the absence of Ekholm, you shouldn’t not be reassurred.

Yes, the Leafs are playing bad, are coming off a losing streak and just got Tavares and Knies back after injury with them both missing multiple games...and still won. That's really reassuring. Imagine if they were playing well?

You got the Leafs in the lowest point of their season with key players just coming back from injury after missing weeks and still lost. Playing the Oilers I have no doubt the Leafs light up Skinner nearly every time just as they do in the regular season - it would be my preferred matchup.

The Oilers would not even make the playoffs in the Atlantic. You are talking about a small sample size this season. The oilers D and goaltending are comically bad. Ekholm lol really? What do you think he is going to do? Lmao.

You are right, the leafs have been playing the worst hockey of their season this year. They still beat the Oilers lol. Don’t even have our best goalie Stolarz.

Leafs >>>>>>> Oilers

13-3-2 record
