It was also the best Edmonton could give, they stacked the top line and played them 27 minutes. Toronto went full turtle and almost paid for it though
Not really.
Stacking is shit for Oilers.
Hot take but IMO Oilers win this game if McDavid wasn't playing. They just turn into fancy overpassers and move away from team game

Are you a tad dense? Change the goalies it's 8-2 Edmonton. Maybe 10-2

This wasn't even Edmontons best game. You know, you haven't seen a big game since 2011
There's a guy still salty about getting losing directly to us in the playoffs and a bunch of Leaf fans talking smoke about regular season games.

Why are people even taking such low hanging bait. lmao

You're 100% right.

Skinner has cost this team at least 10 points in the standings this year. Every single night he's the second best goalie on the ice. Most of the time, the Oilers are able to overcome, but it doesn't change the fact that he's a massive liability.

That’s a blatant lie, sometimes he gets pulled and he’s the 3rd best goalie.

The Oilers and Leafs are not comparable in terms of their status as contenders. The playoff results speaks for itself. Take the win, but are you happy with how the Leafs played? If so, you shouldn’t be.

Your “weak” teams justification holds no sway when the Leafs got tossed against the Jackets/Canadiens and when the Oilers have beaten teams like the Kings/Stars/Canucks and made actual runs past the first round.

The Canadiens swept the team that swept you and the Leafs played them without their 11M centre all series. There's no justification for calling them weak without admitting the Oilers are weak - which for some reason you're unwilling to do.

The Oilers were swept by the Jets. Lost to a 27th place Chicago team in an extended format. Yes, the lowest seeded team in league history to ever win a round. Bad series go both ways.

With / Without McDavid they look like different teams. Is that due to McDavid or how Knoblauch deploys everyone. The stacking logic that the coaches fall for makes no sense to me, why neuter depth to make one great line

That game sucked as an Oilers fan, but Leaf fans shouldn’t be happy about it either. Porous and atrocious defence letting any team out posses and outshoot them like that does not bode well for the playoffs in any division. Thank god for Woll, but it’s no wonder the Leafs have been tossed out in the first round to “weak” teams like the Blue Jackets/Canadiens a few years back.

Over 7 games, the Leafs lose to any team in the West except the Flames/Canucks.
So passive aggressive .

The main difference is the Leafs have only had bad series and poor playoff runs. The trend looks to continue with how they continue to get outplayed. Not many people will bet that goaltending holds out in a 7 game series.

Once again, the difference in playoff history is clear since the Oilers have had some semblance of a run to the cup.

Sure thing  trade goalies and no one knows the outcome.
They do when you watch with your eyes, and watch numbers and statistics where one team can sh** kick another for a prolonged amount of time. Guess what? Edmonton does that. For years. They also have been getting less and less calls now.

I don't know how else to explain it to you. You have a strong bias, which is ok.

This league will be shi**ing their pants if Edmonton nabs a good goalie.

The Oilers always have an easier path. They should have got swept by Florida but Bob finished with a lower save percentage than Skinner... and the Oilers still lost.

The Atlantic has had way more Finalists and Cup winners recently than the Pacific.
