What about the team is flawed? We were missing our #1D and absolutely dominated you all night.
The Oilers D is trash. You can make all the excuses you want and talk all the **** you want saying that the Oilers dominated when they did not. You’re not fooling anybody but yourself.

Leafs OWN the Oilers. It looked like a Toronto home game with all the go leafs go chants. I guess McDavid really got to feel at home tonight didn’t he.

People saying they dominated the Leafs, LOL. Leafs kept all the shots to the outside. A few lucky bounces got them some goals, Leaf goals were all attacking the net. Oilers spent 95% of that games skating cardio laps around the outside

It’s a glass half full glass half empty situation, Skinner is one of the worst goalies in the league, but he’s half as cheap and twice as good as the last guy you tried to run as a starter.

Yeah, but most goalies that are better than him make less money than him. And Campbell actually outplayed Stu in the 2023 playoffs! Unfortunately, Woodcroft wouldn't pull Skinner, which led to the team's demise.

I can't be the only one surprised that he has yet to land another head coaching job in this league.

Too bad they don't have that and doesn't seem like they will anytime soon. Flawed team.

You're 100% right.

Skinner has cost this team at least 10 points in the standings this year. Every single night he's the second best goalie on the ice. Most of the time, the Oilers are able to overcome, but it doesn't change the fact that he's a massive liability.

Sens-Wild ended up with +36 in shots differential. Second most this season was +30.
wisest strategy and the the one we've been employing with kaprizov out is to limit SOG and wooo did we ever fail tonight.

It's just the hockey fans who escaped Brampton to settle in Edmonton

How does a team that was on a delayed penalty call suddenly not get a penalty just cause of a called back goal? Does anybody have any rule they can bring up where this is a thing?
It seems odd but because the clock gets re-winded to the point of the offside, any plays that occurred after are null. The reason they likely used their timeout is because it's awfully risky, if they lose the challenge they are probably dead in regulation since they would go down 5 on 3

The Oilers lost, they did not dominate anything. It was so funny, watching McDavid cry to the Ref at the end of the game because he didn’t get a call.

It was also the best Edmonton could give, they stacked the top line and played them 27 minutes. Toronto went full turtle and almost paid for it though

Jackets is fair and was a 5 game series. The Canadiens beat the Leafs in 7 (with the Leafs missing Tavares all series) swept the team that swept the Oilers and beat your division's powerhouse Knights in 6. If they're a weak team, what are the Oilers?
The Oilers and Leafs are not comparable in terms of their status as contenders. The playoff results speaks for itself. Take the win, but are you happy with how the Leafs played? If so, you shouldn’t be.

Your “weak” teams justification holds no sway when the Leafs got tossed against the Jackets/Canadiens and when the Oilers have beaten teams like the Kings/Stars/Canucks and made actual runs past the first round.
