As a fan, I'm a bit bored. WIn or lose it seems clear we are going to the playoffs and nothing is really important right now. We are on cruise control till TDL. Just waiting for a few acquisitions.

There's a 50% chance of every team scoring on Stuart Skinner on the first shot and an 80% chance of scoring on Stu on the first five. That's the only consistency he's shown since becoming the team's starter and biggest liability.

Can Edmonton be a competitive force in the playoffs this year with Skinner as their #1 goalie?

I don't think so. He's regressed this season and was already exposed as a liability in the 2023 playoffs and last season.

Skinner is 48th in Goals Saved Above Average with a minimum of 9 games, 66th with all games played, and is being protected by a strong defense...despite the local media and idiot Skinner fans on HF Oil blaming the defense for every shitty goal Skinner lets in.

There are 7 or 8 morons on HF Oil who will blindly defend him in every GDT because he made it to Game 7, never mind having the worst save percentage of any goalie to get there since the 80s. These tools are also against upgrading on Pickard because it "might affect Stu's confidence." Too bad we can't trade away some fans...

Oilers should go for Reimer for a lack of better options in net and lack of trading pieces. Reimer is 30th in Goals Saved Above Expected (26th after minimum 9 games) and I believe is a legitimately better goalie than Stuart Skinner and will come cheap. And he's held down a job in the NHL for 15 seasons, without being sent down, unlike Calvin Pickard who probably still belongs in the minors. The Oilers need an insurance policy for Skinner for his inevitable playoff implosion. Put Reimer behind this defense and he'll look much better than Skinner.

I don't even know if I would call it GI but it was at least worth another look by the refs, and Buffalo shouldn't have to risk a penalty for that look.
