Not a great rebound kicked out by Saros.

It's a stat that is just used wrong by people who don't get stats. The Caps are playing solid hockey, albeit, with solid goaltending that helps PDO. And their PDO isn't historic.

It gets labeled the 'luck' stat but that assumption is founded on every player, every goalie, every hockey team forever marching towards an arbitrary mean. Data is useful but ultimately there's more noise in a game like hockey than simple 1s and 0s.

Quinn Hughes is on pace for 26 goals/82 games.

Two years ago this dude could barely shoot the puck.
Fortunately, he's realized nobody else is dangerous shooter on the Nucks

Yeah. A good goalie is usually the culprit that allows people to say a team isn't going to shoot an unreal 8-10 percent on the year. In this respect, nobody calls the Ulmark Swayman Bruins PDO merchants, despite a high PDO.

Bowey!!!!

Insane goaltending. Not solid. That just doesn't hold up. Same as shooting %. It's just a numbers game. Doesn't mean they are not good.

In the last three off-season he committed to improving his game. Three years ago he set out to improve his defence and he did it in spades. Two years ago it was offence and his shot and he obviously did that too. Last off-season I don't know what it was specifically but whatever it was that worked too. I've never seen anyone more committed to improving their game.

It does and has. The Bruins of two years ago had one of the best PDOs, and best record ever. They met a team that said f it in the playoffs, but that's not PDO. Overall, it's a silly metric to assume anything on.

If Edmonton had a decent goalie, they'd be in the PDO group. As is, we just say they need a goalie.

Lundell has made a couple of sick passes to set up his last two goals.

He did say in the offseason that he wanted to hit 20 goals this year....so maybe more shooting this past summer?

Canucks are a weird team.

Beat the McDavid Oilers

Lose to Buffalo

Lose to Oilers without McDavid

So far beating 1st place Capitals

Canucks are really overusing these 3rd jerseys. Feel the same way about the Flames and their Blastys. It should be kind of a novelty not a 4-5 times a month thing.

Course Calgary actually has nice home jerseys, while Vancouver's scheme just makes me think of a cheap 90s aquarium.
