Why was he drafted 62nd? Is he just an odd development pattern?

I don't really have a good answer, but I think his 5v5 game was severely underestimated.

His compete is off the charts, which isn't something I heard a lot about before he entered the NHL.

He was even smaller than he is now in college because of a late growth spurt. Habs took a chance on his literal doctor's note saying he would grow to the size he is now. If he was 5ft10 in college I don't think he gets anywhere near 62

Was like 5’8 at the time of the draft and not considered an elite skater. What they failed to realize is that he grew to around 5’10, and while he still needs to bulk up..his edge work, stick handling, compete and hockey IQ are off the charts

They didn't have any choice. The schedule is very tough for the Habs presently. Today they will face the Stars who had won the last 6 games.
