We did it!

Thanks everyone for trying so hard to get things in under the wire. I want to wish everyone a Happy Holidays and a fun and exciting World Junior Championship. You guys are great, and incredibly knowledgeable, and you made me do what I was hoping not to do--dig for sleepers...haha. :(

Thanks for running this.

It's your effort wrangling together all of the picks that made this thing come together.

Update:
Lehner with a big first day despite starting the tournament with 9!
HF writers lead early, but it's neck and neck!

note: I'll be updating the individual team pages when time allows.

Update:
Lehner continued to do well. I think the biggest takeaway here is, all 9 of his active (Bracco was cut) players have registered at least 1 point.

Roberts is making a push to win by committee, like with Lehner he too has 9 different scorers so far.

HF Writers cling to their Day 2 lead, and with Day 3 having more GP's by the Challengers, things could change rather quickly.

Team Fischer and Canada4Gold are sucking big time. :(

Still time. Half my team is American, and they've got a big scoring game against Germany coming tonight I'm hoping :)

I've been keeping track of my stats and I think I should be at 5 points not 4:

Eichel - 1
Wallmark - 3
Lehkonen - 0
Kamenev - 0
Motte - 0
Hicketts - 1
Suter - 0
Aagaard - 0

You're right. I've been using a data scraper, it must be missing something, I'll manually do it tonight, hopefully with individual rosters. For now, just consider all scores as not final.

Update:

- Team MozesMadness with a big Day 3 (4 points)
- Teams picked away at Lehner's big league as the top dog was without any active players playing today.
- In honour of today's 2 shutouts, I thought I'd look at how many players in the pool have been shutout so far... 25 players! 4 of those players are on Team Fischer! :(

That overall score should be 54-47 for the challengers thanks to the 2 big leaders for us, and no thanks to me :)

The Challengers increased their lead. Lehner and GrandLarseny are starting to pull out in front. With only 12 skaters tomorrow, all eyes will be focused on New Year's Eve.

GrandLarseny moves into a tie for the lead. New Year's Eve could see a lot of points being put up--it should be a great Wednesday night of hockey.

One of my top guns, Larkin, and his buddy Butcher are gone. Malgin's putting up numbers in relegation rounds too, but Kahun's been disappointing.

You guys are running away with it. It's amazing how close it is after 1 and 2 though.

I guess the good thing (for everyone else) is Lehner lost a few guys tonight. Fogarty and Farkas took a big hit and are down to 3 players. While Fischer and Grand each have 6 left (though both could potentially drop down to 5 tomorrow--but I'd only be losing Eisenschmid who's done nothing. :( )

Down to 3 players now (Reinhart, De La Rose, Point) with Malgin, Fiala and Kahun out. Oh lord, I don't know if I can make the leap past Lehner.

I think u did pass me, by 1.

So its

Reinhart, De La Rose, Point vs. Petan, Morrisey, Lindblom

The Fabbri injury might of killed me, no Fabbri and moved Point to the second line.

I'm waiting for Domi, Lazar and Paul to combine for 16+ points in the next two games and I'll have the title. No biggie.

Point got his ass moved down to the 4th line, and Petan decided he wanted to dominate so that looks likes my nail in the coffin.

Hard to believe that Jesse Puljujarvi, maybe Finland's best skater, certainly top-3, looks like he didn't play if you go down the stat line: no goals, assists, points, PIMs, even...I think he led the nation in shots with 26, hard to believe he couldn't cash...

Either way, he was splendid throughout...

Unofficially (I'll give it a day to just make sure nothing changes in the stats...) I'd like to congratulate Lehner. The Year 2 HF WJC Challenge Pool Champion. :)
