You guys kicked our butts last year, and we're out for revenge! Haha. I wanted to once again thank everyone that took part in that, it was a lot of fun, and we didn't start WW3 between the writers and the readers. This is a new year though! Hahaha.

To enter tweet @HockeysFuture with #WJCPOOL and your HFboards username. Everyone that tweets will be put into a randomizer, and the top 5 results will be this years challengers. If you've participated as a challenger before you are still eligible!

As a bonus... I'm personally putting up a $20 Amazon Gift Card for the McKenna Cup Winner. That's a lot of LadyBugs you guys could buy.

Feel free to PM me any questions or concerns.

No Entry fee required.

Good luck guys!

I'll be doing the lottery after midnight est.

Lottery results:

So the Challengers will be: GrandLarseny, Lehner, Jabes, Khabby, MozesMadness
And they'll compete against the HF Writers: Craig Fischer, Brian Fogarty, Mike Farkas, Peter Prohaska, and Chris Roberts.

I'll message everyone involved and then make a random list for the draft order.

I just wanted to say thanks to those who tweeted (I wish you all could have been in it, and it I kept it really fair to give everyone a chance).

Gonna do the draw and to keep things on the level, I'll try and do the randomizer, screenshot, and upload to imgur in one quick motion.

Peter, you're on the clock. I don't expect anything to happen until the morning but pick anytime. Good luck guys. I'll try and set up the standings pages and stuff tonight.

You have a player with NHL experience in this tournament, I think you have to take him.

Anthony Duclair, W, Canada

Jabes hasn't been around hfboards for over a day, so I've asked Canada4Gold to make the pick to keep things moving. He's a smart guy, so he should make a good pick.

We're a -bit- pressed for time, but it's not the 11th hour quite yet.

Tips to keep things moving:

1. Message the next person in the draft after you make your pick
2. "Subscribe to the Thread" (Click on "Thread Tools" at the top of the page to get email notifications) It's great if you check your email lots on your phone.
3. Send in a list. You don't have to send it to me, but if you do I promise I won't sneak peaks, and I won't intentionally steal your guys.

Since I have the next two picks, but won't see another for a long time, I'm going to eschew players who might have better potential in this tournament, but carry ice time risk (primarily Canadian players), and instead go for players who should be on their teams' top lines, log heavy minutes and have been playing in men's leagues for a while. These are the longshots you have to take when you are the tail of the snake draft.

#10: Kasperi Kapanen
#11: Jajub Vrana

Ugh. I'm leaving some enticing names on the board, but there you have it.

Khabby sent me a list, but it looks like he's on. I'll give him a few minutes just in case he had a change of heart since last night.

I'll go with Nikolay Goldobin (a bit of a homer pick, but I love his offense) and I don't think he'll be available in round 3 for me.

Kept with the list, But it got depleted really quickly after I sent it to you

I'm actually kind of worried that I had a bunch of guys ahead of those guys you had listed. Especially since Lehner and Brian went after them too haha. This is me taking Draisaitl and McDavid all over again. :(

Jabes/Canada4Gold are up next.
