HF-NYR Fantasy Keeper League - Discussion Thread Part I (Waiting List Open!!)

I won't say 'sorry it's taking so long' since the long term plan is to have a season run in parallel to a real NHL season. If you're not up for that, you're in the wrong place.
(don't mean for this to come off as aggressive as it sounds)
 
Are we having a sim anytime soon? If not that's cool, I was just wondering if we were aiming to do the entry draft around the same time as the real draft, which is what we did last year. If so, we should probably start simming soon so that we can have the season done by the end of the month.
 
That's a cool idea actually.

If everyone is down, We can all get ready for the draft then, everyone has all their picks unless you have traded them since the start of our game. We can all scramble to get our picks in order and make any necessary trades for higher or lower picks. This should give us something to do until Cali regains internet and get the simming started. We can do the draft, and then the free agency, and then start simming our season if you guys want. Or we can continue the season we started. I'd prefer the former since Cali needs a little more time, and this would also keep the game running and get the trade talks flowing again.

I still have to run this by RKY and of course, it's up to you guys too, but I think it would be our best bet to get the game going again and get us all talking trades and working on our teams. Let me know if you approve or hate the hate.

Not really sure restarting, again, would be a good move.
 
I didn't mean we should restart, I was simply suggesting that we should start simming soon if we want the season to be done by the end of the month. This would allow us to do the draft around the same time as the actual draft, which I think would be cool.
 
Nooooo not restarting. We have the same exact rosters that we have all traded to get right now. We just scrub the sim so far (which was only one sim) and just go right into the draft with our current rosters.

I'm down for that, but if Cali doesn't have the internet up and working or doesn't have the time right now, I'm just suggesting that we can focus on the draft for now instead of just sitting around twiddling our thumbs. It would give us something to do. I don't care either way if we scrap the one sim and just keep whatever rosters we have (including all our trades and what not) and start focusing on draft.
 
Agree with glasgow, but at this rate I dont think its possible to get all the siming done by the end of the month. If Cali steps up but I really think it aint happening because nothing happens here, Stats were promised some time ago aswell.

I think doing the draft thing would be better, too, frankly.
 
Guys, I apologize for all the holdups profusely. I will stick by the fact that this is a long-term thing, but I wasn't expecting such long breaks. I really had to deal with a lot of crap lately. I will HOPEFULLY. Get us to the trade deadline later today, and start moving again. Finishing in time for the draft is entirely possible.
 
Ok, sounds good then, thanks Cali. This way we will all know our placement then for the draft and we can start planning for draft and playoffs. We can also start talking with one another about perhaps trading pick to move up/down in the draft and this should get the game going again. Thanks to everyone for being patient.
 
When the stopages will be?
At the deadline, end of the regular-season, end of first round, end of second, end of third, end of playoffs?
 
Hey guys,

I'm absolutely for doing a draft. To be honest, I thought it was assumed when we started.

One concern I do have is to know how many people are still active. I'd honestly like to just move forward if GM's have fallen off as it's been overdue and we really need to start to develop some consistency to maintain a steady level of activity. So two points I would like to see:

1. Do a role call and whoever doesn't get back within a few days will have their team temp managed by league or someone else until a new GM is found. That way we don't have to stop and wait.

2. Set a specific schedule for doing a sim. From past experience I would imagine 1 every 2 or 3 weeks would be good. I know it's a burden on you Cali and if you send us a message saying that you have to delay one for whatever reason I'm sure we would understand. It simply sounds like a lot of people are concerned with it never happening rather than the time it takes so setting a time period would help a lot with that.
 
I'm still here! However, as we get closer and closer to summer time I won't be around as much cause I work at a sleep away camp with no computer... Anyway someone can be like an assistant GM or co GM with me?
 
Did the CBJ-CLG trade, and simming up the March 1st now. There's no official deadline in seasons mode, but I'll set it there.
