I'm gonna make a post about everyone's biggest "steal" to bring a little positivity:
9th) stickty111: 60th OA - Bobby Brink (6 points)
Well, this pool wasn't pretty for our resident prospect expert stickty111. His dreams probably died with Dach getting injured in the pre-tourney game, but it didn't help your 3rd round pick (Blomqvist) didn't play a single game either. He managed to pull out of last place right at the end.
1st) Morgs: 62nd OA - Jacob Pelletier (7 points)
Gold Medal! Sure Zegras (18 points), and Stutzle (10 points) carried my team, but without Pelletier putting up big points in a lesser role for Canada there's no way I would have won.
7th) LeafsOHLRangers98: 38th OA - Cole Perfetti (6 points)
Always rough when your goalie doesn't get a single point for you. You decided to go for the defenseman and all but Drysdale put up a bunch of points. Perfetti was great value where you got him.
2nd) weems: 24th OA - Devon Levi (15 points)
Silver Medal winner. If Canada won, I'm pretty sure you would have won as well. Made a couple other good picks, but obviously none was better than Levi who ended with the 3rd most points in the tournament behind only the 2nd and 4th OA picks.
5th) Advanced Stats: 65th OA - Kasper Simontaival (7 points)
Another time where no goalie really put a damper on a good team. Simontaival may not have had the most amount of points, but grabbing him as late as you did is an absolute steal. Turcotte, Krebs, Mercer, Byram and Helleson put up a bunch of points.
3rd) Judas Tavares: 46th OA - Topi Niemela (8 points)
Bronze Medal! Just held on with hockeynorth almost taking it! The Topeman crushed it for you, fantastic pick where you got him. I think you had the best balanced team as you not only had the only team without a single player getting 0 points, but also your three lowest point guys (Holloway, Barron, Knazko) were not high picks either.
4th) hockeynorth: Replacement Draft - Kari Piironen (9 points)
Before the tourney started I had you pegged for the gold medal. Lundell (10) and Kaliyev (8) were great picks too, but you grabbed Finland's starting goalie in the replacement draft.... at like pick 103. A point away from the Bronze Medal and man looking at your team I still think it's the biggest upset. Holtz with 3 points, Chinakhov with 1, and Muk with 0? Yikes.
6th) Kiwi: 53rd OA - Roni Hirvonen (6 points)
Well your first two picks were fantastic in Byfield (7) and Knight (11), and then it kinda fell apart. Hirvonen turned out great though with 6 points in the back half of the draft. It's just too bad that Abramov didn't play half the games, Mysak didn't go far enough, and your defenseman (similar to mine) put up only 4 points in 21 games.
8th) Maplebeasts: 52nd OA - John-Jason Peterka (10 points)
Best value pick in the entire draft? I mean, he was only behind Zegras, Cozens, Levi, and Knight in points, and was tied with Stutzle and Lundell, The latest any of those were drafted was 24th OA, and 3 of the 6 were 1st round picks. Lack of goaltending points, and only McMichael, Khusnutdinov and Johansson showing up really put a damper on the team. I couldn't believe Rossi & Jarventie didn't put up a single point.
10th) Canada4Gold: 30th OA - Matthew Boldy (7 points)
I guess someone's gotta come in last

. You made four really good picks.... they just ended up being the first four picks in the draft. Boldy lead your team in points, but other than Amirov, Raymond, and Broberg nobody else other than Beniers bothered to show up. A combined 2 points between Nybeck, Olausson, Kuznetsov, Has, and Garand... Unfortunately a rough tourney for the guy who gave me the idea for the pool.
Great tournament everyone! Looking forward to doing it again next year.
