Since y'alls are chatty about the style,


Thoughts on the "lightning" bolt button on mobile? It's supposed to show you "new" content. Do we like it, not like it? Deciding to get rid of it or not.

I initially did not know what this did so clicked it in the hopes that it would turn off the blistering light mode shock I got. What you described is a good feature though. I like it.

Seems like it can be a useful tool. I personally, will never touch it.

Is it just me or is this place slow as shit for anyone else. I try and like something and it takes like 15-20 seconds to show up.

It’s a bad feature.

There is no known meaning behind a lightning bolt in UI patterns. So all it does is distract users and take them to a page they don’t have any idea of. Then have to figure out how to get back.

It is the only icon in the top nav that loads a new page instead of a component on the same page. It’s a poor design.

I'd like the HFBoards logo at the top of the page to be smaller.

Basically my understanding is that HF wants to stay away from negative reactions (and limit the general amount of reactions available) to essentially keep the place from turning into Reddit where it’s all about reactions. They want to avoid discouraging discussion from earnest contrarians.

That said, there could possibly be some solutions/compromises that will be worked on once the dust has settled from the update, so stay tuned.

Get rid of the spam ad infestation and I will stop "reacting"!!!
