Hey @BruinDust going 20 rounds was only implemented for the 2022 draft due to its slow pace.

Usually we go 25 rounds and I was planning on adding those tonight. Unless there are any serious objections.

May I make a suggestion where it's a snake draft.....use an even number of rounds. Say 24 or 26.

26 seems good. And maybe whoever is done picking can just skip their turns?

I'm putting Bruno Sammartino on the trading block. I don't care for him. Just picked him up as trade bait.

Yeah, if people are done or will be done soon, just let everyone know so we can speed up until free agency.

That would be ideal.

Yeah, I always draft on who's based around my time. I'll dip back like 7-8 years before I was born and that's pretty much it.

I dunno, I'm kinda with them on this one. It's up to us to give a shit about those before our time.
And that's fine. I was just answering his question. I almost always draft guys I've seen. I'm not sure if I've even seen a full Sammartino match in my time. From my knowledge, he bores me.

I'm not really helping his trade value here, am I?

You can try but no one is under any obligation to be a fan of any wrestler. I don't care for Sammartino at all myself, and no exaggerated historical significance can change that. It is a completely subjective exercise.

I think that's the kinda attitude that cost us the likes of nameless1 :/

Having spoken to nameless1 regarding that, I do not think that people not pretending to care about wrestlers they've never even watched is his issue. Let's be honest, Sammartino is boring and is only mentioned with any regularity these days because WWF became the dominant wrestling promotion after he was already gone. He's not Thesz or even other undrafted wrestlers in terms of significance (or quality, in my opinion).

Don't get me wrong- finding someone boring isn't much of a problem as much as the (willful ignorance?) towards importance of historical figures.

Ever since joining in on this, I've kinda been forced into learning so much about wrestlers I've only heard the names of and why they're worth picking..

It's made the choice btw everyone's cards harder and harder, but in the best way.

I do not see how historic significance has relevance. At least in the way that I view it - what card would I like to watch? Bruno Sammartino was great for selling tickets to people in immigrant communities in the Northeastern US 50 years ago. That's not me. There's a massive draw for Japanese people of the 1950s available as well... but I'm not a Japanese person from the 1950s so if someone drafts him I almost certainly won't care in the least. Others may see it differently.

I do agree that the potential to learn about something new from the draft is a big plus. I've found some good shit I never knew about, old and new, due to things that others dug up.

I had Bruno last year and my storyline was him versus Lesnar. Bruno was on his long championship run and Brock was making his debut with Heyman introducing him. Brock squashed him and it was the start of an unstoppable Lesnar.

I find that the problem with Bruno is that he is hard to place. Because of his long championship run he more less belongs championship matches. Any match with him against some mid card is just a throwaway match for me. It doesn’t really elevate a card too much for me. Problem is that wrestling has evolved a long way since his days and he is super boring compared to wrestlers over the last 20-25 years.

Francine gets picked, I love it. Haven't thought about her in a very long time. Had a pretty big crush on her as 13 year old. Seeing her get picked made me think of Beulah McGillcuty who I then googled and found out she's actually married to Tommy Dreamer. I think I knew that before but completely forgot.

Alright everyone, a few mistakes have been made...by me.

Megahab got skipped over for pick 276 as I messed up the order thinking he was skipped.

Mcfclee also selected someone they already had, when I'm picking for him. I'd like to put a pause in place for Megahab to make up his pick.
