Only 32 cities in the world with a team playing in the NHL. Maybe we snuck in in thanks to the boomer generation because the economy was good enough in Buffalo back in the day. We would never get this now if it were a new option.

Let's just enjoy the ride, everything will be fine. Even if they lose 15 in a row.

Some players care more about where they live than others.

Some players care more about taxes than others.

Some players care more about getting paid than winning.

Some players care more about playing with their friends than others.

Buffalo has consistently been a market that has a negative rep from visiting players. But, plenty of players like living here once they are forced to. Craig Rivet is exhibit A for a player that was not happy to be traded here and has since decided to live here in retirement, even after a nasty ending to his tenure as a Sabres player.

Adams was right when he said that getting players to come to Buffalo is harder than many other markets with better weather and better tax situations.

Adams was also right when he pointed to the Bills and saying that winning games is how you overcome that disadvantage.

The Trouba trade is an example of that. He blocked a trade to Columbus and accepted a trade to Anaheim. He wasn't making that choice based on who is better on the ice right now.

But winning is the main factor. Sabres had no problems attracting talent when they were leviathans of the NHL. That's in the 70's, 80's, 90's and 00's.

Today, Pegula and Adams whine and cry about players who don't want to be here. Winning cures everything.

I was alive when the Knox's pursued an NHL franchise for Buffalo. They failed at 1st. Finally succeeded in 1970. Trust me, Buffalo;s glory days were far behind it in 1970.

The Knox's had CREDIBILITY, INTEGRITY, CHARACTER and a passion for the game that Pegula couldn't match on his best day.

He may have lucked into Beane and McD to some extent but he's actually a really good owner of the Bills. Getting him out of town would hurt the franchise that actually matters.

Just praying for the day when the Sabres organization folds or moves and we can get an expansion team. At some point, the bad karma and storm clouds hanging over an organization get to be too much for anyone to overcome. We're past the point of no return.

Ripping off Erie County and the NYS government is akin to robbing from a blind person. He's not the first and won't be the last.
