What a fight by Osipov, he destroyed a baby pen. One of the top beatings of the season 😂 when they put him up on the jumbo he just casually smiled and waved at the crowd.
Saw the replay of this. Was an ass whopping! he has been a good Swiss Army knife for us this year. Forward. Dee. Russian Translator. Hasn’t played a lot but has been good when we needed him.

Yeah he actually looked a little better tonight than I was expecting filling in for Mac. Also had a pivotal blocked shot he took in a bad spot laying down on the PK that sprung the game winning breakaway goal. He got an assist for his effort. Was hoping he'd get an apple for it.

I saw Dube was out today (played on Saturday). Is he hurt?

Also, surprised that Brett Hyland was cut on his PTO. Seems as though Allen is still with the team, but we need defensemen right now.

They just recalled a few guys from SC and probably don’t want to carry a ton of bodies. Let’s Hyland get a jump on getting in shape for next year

With three Bears regulars on Dee up with Washington, 52 wins record secured. Top record. Will be nice to see some others get a game in the last two regular season games. Would like to see Allen be one of them.

tough loss for Bears last night and they don’t get all-time AHL record, but still a strong team. Going to need some players to step up early in the playoffs as the Caps have possession of 5 key players for bears (Lappy, Miro, LuJo, Mac, and Iorio).

Well, if that Rangers make quick work of us like most expect then they'll all be back in time. The AHL regular season doesn't end until today and the Bears have a bye in the first round. I can't imagine they'd be playing before the 30th at the earliest based on the release of the first round schedules today. If the Caps Rags go 6-7 games then it could get a little hairy for the Bears in the first round but there should be plenty enough talent there to carry them through to the next round. At that point barring a Capitals miracle you'll see a loaded Bears team at full strength with the only change a swap of Matty Phillips for Mike Sgarbossa.

Cool. Wasn’t sure of the playoff timeline. And good that we have a bye.

Team will be stacked once the 5 get sent down. But i am hoping for Caps to do some damage and win at least one series so hopefully the Bears can hold down the fort for a series or two.

The Washington Capitals have assigned 2023 second-round pick Andrew Cristall to the AHL’s Hershey Bears, following the end of his WHL season. This kicks off the pro career of one of 2023’s most divisive prospects – with Cristall’s 280 points in 191 career WHL games clearly showing his scoring ability, but skeptics pointing out his lack of explosivity and off-puck fundamentals. He recorded 111 points in 62 games this season alone, the most of any Kelowna Rocket since 1996, and will now hope to translate his flashy style into a tougher scene.

Gives him a few days to get practice reps in with Hershey having a bye. If he impresses he could see ice time
Hopefully he impresses more than Hyland and Allen and can stick around.

If nothing else, will be a good learning lesson for him. He’ll learn about two way hockey. Especially if he gets to play.

what happened to Snively this year? he just sucked?

looked like a decent cheap 3rd liner a year or 2 ago that we may have got some goals out of, this year not sighted
Nothing happened to him. He was an undrafted free agent with a nice hometown connection. But he was always a longshot. He was 23 when they first signed him, and is 28 now. He's making himself into quite a nice AHL player, which is a win for him.

You mean Bears leading scorer Joe Snively? Had a great year in Hershey and was their most consistent offensive player. Just isn't cut out for the NHL in a bottom 6 role. Unless somebody can find him top 6 minutes/PP time he'll just be an AHL star. Nothing wrong with that.

What are the line combos gonna look like for these bears?
I think the lines will look something like:

Limoges-Veccicone-Frank (been top line most of season)
Miro-Lapierre-Phillips (the caps line)
Snively-Huntington-Dube
Strome-Sutter-Trineyev
Extras: Cristal, Roe, Rybinski, Hofer (Sudz?)

Ness-Mcilrath
Johansen-Iorio (Day here if Iorio is out)
Aktell-Day (Priskie here if DAy moves up)
Extras: Massie, Priskie, Osipov

Shepherd-Clay-Gibson

They are loaded and deep!

Over guys who have earned their stripes this year? I'd say it's probably pretty unlikely. I wouldn't be surprised to see Miro in and out of the lineup. Bears are built to repeat this year.
Phillips has earned his stripes?

I’m sure it is unlikely, but super appealing.
