Shep is garbage tonight
Missed the 2nd and 3rd goals scored on him. 1st one, even though short-handed Shepard badly left his near post too early. The 4th goal Shepard badly overplayed his angle and it was a fairly easy far-side goal.

Bears special teams has stunk tonight and for whatever reason the Bears have let the Firebirds play a wide open game which suits their higher skill style of players.

If the score is still a 2 goal lead for Firebirds after 2, then Todd Nelson should have Fucale start the 3rd period. Shepard just doesn't have it tonight.

Fucale looks a lot sharper than Shepard was in the game. Something else I have noticed, Shepard is a smaller goalie and looks like he has to move more to play his angles. When the Firebirds are allowed to play a wide open game, it gives a lot of trouble for Shepard. Call me crazy, but I think Fucale should start Game 7 and not Shepard.

Well that didn't instill confidence for game 7 so much... ouch

Start was great until that 1st penalty, by the time CV got 3rd goal when Iorio got worked on that lob they were looking like headless chickens. Shit PK plus shit PP is not going to get you a good result

Hope they can reset and stay out of the box for game 7

God. This power play has been ass all finals.

3-1 bad guys. Bears look deflated after starting so hot.
It has been pretty bad all season, and honestly, for a number of years. The PP has been this teams weakness since before Carbery took over.

Looking ahead, I'm not sure you can play Shep tomorrow night. His confidence, in that building, against that team, has got to be gone. It is one game, winner takes all. Give CV a goalie they haven't seen and probably haven't planned for.

Also, I think the difference maker in home vs away has been last change. Hershey needs their fourth line out against that veteran top line for CV to shut them down. They aren't getting that and the results show.

Agree with the PP and line change but not sure you can switch goalies here...Shep took them all the way within one game of the cup. Bailing on him now would be an odd choice.

I was thinking about this move. Fucale can win a big game.

Yeah, I'm thinking like a fan. Shep has looked bad in all three in that building. I'm not a coach, don't play one on TV, and didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, either. Just want to see a win at any cost. I'll defer to the professionals, of course.

Edit = I questioned switching goalies for one game in a minor league hockey championship series. It's not like I've suggested something completely crazy, like trading Tom Wilson...

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Agreed, but man I don't think I could pull that trigger if I was the coach. That's a tough pill.

This is where the coach earns the big bucks. Second guessed forever if they lose, hailed as a super genius if they win, regardless of what he chooses.

Whoever he goes with, I hope they deliver a legendary performance to reward his faith in them. Goaltending hero, activated.

And if it works, it will sting a lot less for everyone. Shep will have gotten them to the finish line and Fucale gets them over.

Game 7 free on AHLTV….for those who need it.
Beat me to it, but this is good news for the cord cutters (though AHL TV will likely carry the Coachella Valley broadcast).

By my count, the following channels/streaming services will all broadcast Hershey/Coachella Valley Game 7:

*WPMT Channel 43, York, PA (Hershey broadcast)
*NBC Sports Washington (Hershey broadcast)
*AHL TV (likely Coachella Valley broadcast)
*NHL Network (Coachella Valley broadcast)
*KDFX Channel 33.2 (cable channel 11), Palm Springs, CA (Coachella Valley broadcast)

Game 7 will start shortly after 10 PM ET/7 PM PT on Wednesday night (June 21st).

Positive vibes only today

AHLtv gives you the ability to choose which announcing team you would like to hear, but the video will most likely be the CV Jumbotron feed all the way. Still great that they are offering it for free to everyone.

Hershey has to take the energy out of the building early, similar to last game, but this time they need to keep the pedal down and not sit back. The ice is going to be dogshit either way so no more excuses. Hopefully the refs let the boys play tonight
