Well it was nice to fantasize about the possibility of having Montgomery coach the Pens.
Now time to go back to the dreary and depressing reality that we are stuck watching a lifeless Sullivan coached team.

Coaching career

On November 16, 2010, Bannister signed for the Hull Stingrays in the British Elite Ice Hockey League as a player and assistant coach. On July 29, 2011, Bannister was announced as a player and head coach of the Braehead Clan in the British Elite Ice Hockey League for the 2011–12 season, replacing Bruce Richardson.[2]

On June 2, 2012, Bannister was announced as an assistant coach for the OHL's Owen Sound Attack, which effectively ended his playing career.[3] On July 10, 2015, he left the assistant coaching job in Owen Sound to become a head coach for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.[4]

So you're telling me there's a chance.

I still gotta think Sullivan's a dead man walking as far as his job's concerned. They'll just never fire him in-season because they respect/adore the guy too much.

Which might end up being a blessing in disguise because of the draft position.

Oh well. We'll just have to wait and see I guess. Sucks that the Blues snagged Montgomery but I dunno how he would've been with the focus on the foreseeable future for this team anyway.

I'm f***ing done with this. I'll see you lot when Sullivan is fired.

Good luck and see you lot later.

Mostly meant that as in game day threads as I probably won't even watch much of their games over wbs. I'll focus my game days to the Baby Pens.

I'll still post in the lounge, wbs and steelers threads and shit talk the Pens under the Sully regime. The Pens aren't worth talking about in gdt's, why waste energy on a team that has ownership doesn't give a f*** about the fans? Not until Sullivan is fired.

Oh, it's Yohe. So Sullivan's already got his shit packed, huh?
You know he's been pumping that "Penguins don't listen" angle since like 2019.

How have the Penguins (besides being super awesome) been able to survive and play extremely well with the absurd amounts of injuries this year?

@Jacob_LinkCable

I truly think it’s this simple, Jacob: They’re listening to their coach. I’m a big believer in Mike Sullivan and, for reasons that are difficult to comprehend, the Penguins didn’t particularly listen to him last season. They just wanted to score goals. They didn’t concern themselves with much else. I truly believe that the sweep at the hands of the Islanders last spring was the wake-up call this team needed. They were manhandled, embarrassed. On the first day of training camp in September, Sullivan told his team that the days of championships were over if they didn’t start committing themselves to playing two-way hockey. They have done just that and, when you do that without your stars, you still can win. When you keep doing it with your stars back in the lineup, maybe you can win the whole thing.

Also this cracked me up because this is the same shit they say about Mike Sullivan, yet after Shero we had JR, Hextall, and Dubas...Shero had a gig in NJ and was fired and hasn't been a GM since.

"Everything I'm hearing, boy, it sure sounds like there's a good chance that he will be," Yohe told us. "It sounds to me like Ron Burkle wants to fire him and that Mario Lemieux is a lot more hesitant to do so. I'm not so sure that I would fire Shero. When I look at Ray Shero and most of his free agent signings and the trades he's made, I think he's the best in the business. Has he made some mistakes, sure he has. But if you want to get rid of Ray fine, who are you going to bring in? Who is out there right now that is better than Ray Shero? I'm not sure there is anyone. I'd be careful what you wish for with Ray."

Especially funny because JR was hired and they won back 2 back cups.

"I think it's clear that there's a little bit of a disconnect between Crosby and Malkin and the head coach," he said. "I've been sensing it for a while. It was clear to me that Crosby seemed a little annoyed by Bylsma, and Bylsma probably grew tired of dealing with superstars."
Also he pushed this narrative, which was a lot of bullshit and Crosby came out and said this wasn't the case, but this is funny to read about Bylsma, when the Penguins are about to miss the playoffs a 3rd year in a row, apparently there's no disconnect?

Feels appropriate for this thread.

Lol yeah it is.

That Bannister firing and hiring Montgomery was just, it hit hard that Sullivan is going to destroy more players and ruin more value for players before he's fired and it just bit a nerve as you can see.

It just feels like we're grasping straws to discuss things to fix this shit show when we all know it doesn't matter who they trade for or get rid of on the roster, Sullivan will f*** it up.

Well, Sullivan does have the tank on track and maybe his penchant for playing old guys will somehow increase their value and we can dump most of them nearer the trade deadline. And with that, I am all out of optimistic spin.
