I get not firing Sullivan because of questionable other options. However, that changed as of very recently. If I’m Dubas, I’m beating down Montgomery’s doors to hire him.

Am I crazy here? Do you agree? I think this team desperately needs a new system and new voice. Obviously management loves Sullivan but if Dubas doesn’t turn this around and continues his current path, he will soon be unemployed.

You lost me in your first sentence.

Dubas burner account? Yeah man - we utterly F'N hate the dude at this point. Lived long enough to become the villian - about 3 years ago. Hire Steigerwald for all I care. Unbelievable he's made it this long.

It's gotta go deeper than that though. Fire him, then change the philosophy of stacking the team with people who can only defend on the penalty kill. Also, target players who can score goals and/or hit people.

I just meant maybe Dubas felt there was no other viable options on the free market which, up until now may have been true. But if he doesn’t make a push for Monty, he’s insane.

How will this affect Jarry?
Who gives a f***?

Firing Sullivan would likely have a positive impact on 90% of this roster, the ones that were Sullivan's pets that didn't deserve the rope they got - like Acciari, Nieto, etc, won't be so lucky. f***ing Acciari and Nieto getting 15+ of ice time while Puljujarvi gets 10, Poulin and Pono even less while all 3 were better, lol.

Pretty sure a new coach with an actual defensive system that isn't Sullivan's would have a positive impact on this entire roster.

Won’t happen. What they won’t say is they’re comfortable losing. The players don’t want challenged and Montgomery would do that.

Who says they won't say it? They say they want to be a contender but Werner also stated he doesn't really care about the ticket sales and believes this team is capable of more rather than letting low attendance dictate moves.

Which basically says - we are losing attendance because we lose and we don't care because we believe in Mike Sullivan, for "reasons."

Attendance was 16,065 for this game - Fans couldn't even give enough of a shit to show up for Jake. 4th lowest attendance this season.

  1. Ducks - 14,945
  2. Wings - 15,191
  3. Sabres - 15,644
  4. Bolts - 16,065

Before this game, the Pens were above the Jets for capacity at 91.4%, after this game they're below the Jets at 91% while the Jets are now 91.4%...lol. 23rd in the league for capacity % and average attendance. But Werner doesn't care, he hearts Sullivan either way.

Bro...there has been a 'fire Sullivan' contingent on here since they got swept by the Islanders in the 2019 playoffs and it's done nothing but get more and more support as the years have gone on. I think there was maybe a poster or 2 left last year that defended Sullivan but all they could muster was "it's not all his fault". This year, there is nobody left defending Sullivan except FSG and Dubas who are the only people that matter on this topic.

So yes, we all agree they should fire Sullivan and hire Montgomery. But they won't.

If Sullivan and FSG went over Dubas’ head and Dubas has no control over who is coach, how is this his chance to fire Sullivan? Both narratives can’t be true.
