They have Quick locked up for 10 years.
Pretty sure Trxjw wasn't suggesting Hank was going to LA. Rather if he left (the Rangers) we would go after Bernier.
Was thinking the exact same thing, though the Devils fans hopes are resting upon getting Bernier out of LA.
Perosnally I dont give Hank a dime over 8mil/year. Even at that it would be a long thought process before I offered it up. I just think in todays NHL you can be successful without your goalie being your best player.
I am really starting to feel bad for Hank. He doesn't deserve this.

The O.J. trial.Heck, if I remember correctly (correct me if I'm wrong) the 1992-1993 season Rangers had huge expectations as well, only to miss the playoffs, and look what happen the year after?
Agreed, but these teams are usually above average or elite offensively.
Under Sather, the Rangers haven't had a team that is top 10 in goals per game since 2000-01. Constructing a team that is competent offensively, let alone above average, has been a struggle for the organization. We will have more cap space to spend on forwards if Lundqvist is gone, but if the poor decision-making continues in regards to free agent signings, it will not help much. If the post-Lundqvist era is to begin after next season, Sather cannot be the one in charge.
I don't know, I just don't understand the pity for him. He's playing in one of the best cities in the world, where everyone loves him. He's almost consistently been making the playoffs during his career, and the Ranger future doesn't look that much of a ****show that everyone is predicting. He is competing in the playoffs with the Rangers
Last year he was in the ECF and this year the ECSF. It is not like he is on a last place team here.
He is in a fairly good spot here.
The bottom line really is that making the $ Brooks reported and wanting to win a Cup are diametrically opposed concepts in a cap league.
He'll have to pick one or the other.
My head just exploded.
Seriously? Another "Aw, poor Hank" post? You've gotta be kidding me. The dude wants a boatload of cash and has never taken a dime less than he thought he was worth to help the team.
I'll say "poor Hank" if he gives the team a favorable deal instead of wanting market value. Show a bit of loyalty and I'll weep for him, too.
...not to mention he still has one more year left at the $6.5 million per he's been making the last five years. The word 'poor' should never be mentioned in the same sentence as Hank.
The O.J. trial.
John Starks shot 1 for 19 in game seven
I'll jump on the bandwagon...
Kurt Coabin killed himself
Lorena Bobbitt was found not guilty.
I sincerely hope he gives the team a bit of a break and shows a bit of loyalty. Especially after he was slightly overpaid on the last contract when it was signed. I won't kill the dude if he cares more about money. But I certainly won't feel sorry for him if that's the case.
In all honesty, if Hank had the nerve (yes, the nerve) to ask for 10M? Sather should ask him with a straight face, "Is your name Sidney Crosby? No? OK, so your high end is now only 8.7M at the very max."

Just asking for opinion, but hypothetically, wold you guys have Crosby at 10m or Hank at 10m?
