Heinola's biggest fan? Looks like you have some competition, @sipowicz
He must be skating well if they are going to throw him in game action on the road vs. 4 teams the Jets are competing for in the playoffs.

I wonder if they platoon him and Fleury, and sit Barron which would allow Arniel to give mroe ice time to his two star wingers, and throw the matchups off. Try to get the best of Ville on the PP.

I personally don't care if he lights it up in two games or not, this is all about him getting his skating legs under him where they can give him 20 plus minutes a game.

But yes, he needs to stay healthy the rest of the year.
With Morrissey and Samberg ahead of him, I think he's looking at Stanley's 12-15 minutes. Especially on the road.

I think they simply need to get him in the lineup - it's been a long time coming and they need to sort out that bottom pair for the long run.
At one point I was thinking they would platoon this bunch but now I'm thinking they want to get it settled - and there are always injuries.

We know what we have with Fleury and Stan - we don't know what we have in Ville until he plays some meaningful hockey. They also can't wait for the ideal matchups - the injuries have pushed the schedule ahead for this crew.

Camp and preseason means squat, hell Lambert was great in camp but isn't near NHL calibre yet!

Tiny Heiny's problems begin in his own end against NHL competition!

Tiny hasn't played in the NHL since January 23' where he had a 10 game stint where he managed one assist and Bones had seen enough!
A good hockey brain can compensate for a lot, including size. You’ve seen that, and have been wrong, about Perfetan too. Stanley has the size but the hockey brain is clearly lacking. I believe, with time, you will be proven wrong about Heinola as well!

That's what we're all waiting for - I look forward to seeing how Ville's' big brain handles the walls / corners.
Not sure how Stan ended up in your argument - these guys have very differing strengths and they've been discussed at length.
Usually it's Slow Stan not Dumb Stan - but I know you had to make your point . . .

PK is still an important role. Who steps up with Fleury out? Heinola? Morrissey? Miller? This is the one I'll be watching.

Yes, PK is important
And I'm sure Arniel is thinking about what he needs right now
Do we need to improve our PP or our PK? And will that impact who is in the lineup

Both related to the same injury and the set back wasn't huge, the Jets' defense were just insanely healthy.
The kid has missed most of the last season plus another 20 or so this season, reports from the Moose is he didn't really get back up to speed after his return last season until right at the end of the season. Then the bone infection and missing camp and the first 1/4 of the season this year. Those are a couple really big hits in a young career.

He didn't miss most of last season, he played in 41 of 72 games. He's been very healthy throughout his career, the vast majority of his missed games come from one injury and complications stemming from that one injury, and a bone infection isn't indicative at all of him being injury prone.

I would luv to be proven wrong on soon to be 24 Tiny Heiny!
I don't think you'll be proven wrong about Heinola Sip. The guy is too small and weak to be a defender. We already have too many small guys on defense, like Mossissey and Pionk. Morrissey is a great defenseman, and of course you keep him, but Pionk is not a playoff type of Dman. Doesn't have the size to clear the net front.

Even when Tiny Heiny was in the lineup in the past, he really did nothing and got pushed around. Don't understand why he gets so much press on these forums ? I'd trade him, and very likely I'd trade Pionk, for a bigger mobile defenseman. Pionk is playing good this year, but its a contract year, and some seasons he's a non factor.

The Jets are just 1 or 2 players away from a Cup contender, and that starts with a talented, big mobile defenseman, that can clear the front of the net. That's how I see things.

Playing 41 games on the farm team because you haven't recovered to the point where you can return to the NHL is missing most of a season. Ankle fractures can be very complicated as your ankle is made up of 3 separate bones that need to be held in place with pins after a fracture. Full recovery can take a long time if all three bones were fractured as it appears in Hienola's case. Then adding a bone infection which can take several months to recover from. So yes the kid has had some hard knocks.
