anyone handy with upgrading car stereos?
my 2013 tacoma touch screen took the butt end of my hockey stick and cracked it. Now the touch screen doesnt work. I looked on amazon and they have a better stereo that fits for 05-13 tacomas, Will this be difficult to install. Or is it as simple as taking the old one out and plugging in the new one?
replacing the touch screen is like $200 for just the screen on Ebay. While this new better function stereo is about $110 on Amazon
Does it have CarPlay/android auto capabilities? Does it have other vehicle controls like hvac and convenience menus in the touch screen?

If it’s literally just a radio and cd player then it’s very easy. Buy on crutchfield. They’ll give you a clip in harness that you can wire in your living room and just plug it into the car.

I don’t even know what that means but that symptom is unfortunately very familiar. Ruh roh!

Definitely go into the eye doctor and see if you have one! It's very common. I'll post a picture on here about what it looks like to most of us who have one.

Everyone is different of course. But typically this what it looks like. Sometimes it was hard to explain what I saw in my one eye. 😂🙃

No, you’ll have to wire the new unit into your existing wiring. Through crutchfield it’s VERY easy

They provide you with a wiring harness that clips into your new radio, and another harness that clips into your existing wiring. Your job is to match the two harnesses they give you, color for color. You can do it all at your kitchen table if you wanted.

Oh. Ok yeah my eyes are proper fooked then lol

had a very not cool discovery today. I just turned 40 in January. You’ll see why it matters.

Last night I noticed my eyes couldn’t focus anything within a couple feet space from my melon. I chalked it up to a long day, fighting off some sea sickness, fatigue, i just wasn’t feeling the best yesterday.

I woke up this morning and it’s still the same. I’m hoping it’s just a symptom of the scopolamine patches or something. But i don’t like it. I’ve been doing the weird “head down but peaking over the top of my glasses while extending my phone and bringing it closer until i can read it” move

If this is what they say is “forty eyes” then i don’t want it. A very harsh and sobering realization out in the middle of the Caribbean.
Rubbing alcohol will help the nausea. (Smell it don't drink it ;) I hope it's going ok otherwise.

I've had readers since I was 50. I cant see a damned thing on my phone or signage without them. I crush about 3 pair a year so I just get the Walmart ones.
