Mattress shopping has (hopefully) ended. Been sleeping on an original Nectar for the last 6 years or so, and while it's still fine I'm ready for a change. I must have laid on 50 beds in the last week. Everything started to feel the same. Went down the rabbit hole of reading reddit reviews and watching youtube reviews. Prices are also gross

Ended up finding a family owned/operated business in New York, DLX, and they were super responsive and helpful. They even worked with us on price. The downside of this is that I'm purchasing blind, since I can't exactly try one out first. But, they back it with a 120 day full refund return window.

I am both relieved, and a little nervous. Hopefully we love it!

6 years?! Thing is practically new.

The last time I bought a bed is when I graduated college. I have my 20 year reunion this year. Might be time for a new one.

I am so glad I went with a sleep number bed a few years ago when the prices were semi reasonable. Now, forget it, especially the adjustable ones.

Of course all the mattress stores told us that a memory foam will maybe last 5 years, but I'm pretty sure they all said it because their payouts on Nectar beds are ass since I can buy it direct for the same price with free shipping and extras thrown in.

We got a new, bigger bed/frame, so the mattress is a necessity. Otherwise I would've been fine keeping the existing mattress. We are keeping it actually. I'll just wrap it and store it.

I didn't even look due to an assumed cost. Just checked out and they have SOME that can be reasonable, but mostly it's just far too much for me.

We need to upgrade to a king. I’m just being lazy and cheap.

When we were furniture shopping the furniture store pushed us to a Cal King bedframe, which was in the budget and looked nice, but finding a Mattress and sheet sets turned into a pain in the ass and I wish we just had the standard King in the end.

I forget where I got the mattress, I think off Walmart's website. Some mid-range memory foam one, it's okay, I sleep fine, it's firm enough for me but not perfect. Better than the 4-inch twin xl mattress I was sleeping on in my apartment days where I'd wake up with a stiff back every morning.

I highly recommend Gardner Mattress in Salem, MA. Made in the USA.

We went with the Organic Classic. Then put a latex topper on it. Its been really good the past 5 years.

Heard a lot about latex toppers. That's going to be an option for us once we test out the new bed for a hot minute

I feel you on this one. I prefer a little more firmness. The lady prefers more give. Factoring in our heights/weights and the discrepancy grows. The place we ended up ordering from does split firmness so she gets what she wants, and I can sleep on my concrete side.

When I stayed at my brother's house last year they had a sleep number bed in the guest room, which is good for that functionality where one side can be soft and the other form. The number I found most comfortable was on the firmer end which surprised me. I have no idea how much they cost tough and they can't be cheap.

There are a million different kinds now, as with everything else. Looks like they run a few grand. We paid 1440 delivered for ours. I'll take it.

Depends on what you want. I have SI joint dysfunction and it causes sciatica so I needed something that would prevent me from flipping onto my stomach. I went with a full size mattress with the adjustable base. I can comfortably sleep on my back or side. I sleep with my head elevated and my feet are at a 90 degree angle to put me in neutral spine. I also have the option to sleep flat as well as in zero gravity. It also has reading and tv watching positions. It is boujee and I love it.

I got lucky b/c the sales guy tossed in the feet warmer feature for free. It has been a game changer, along with losing weight. I went during their labor day sale a few years ago and between that sale and the family and friends discount you get when a family member gives you their code, I paid just shy of $3k. Its not cheap but what is the point of shelling out more than that for various pain treatments if you don't fix the actual cause of the problem.

I've found 2 cons: 1. the price and 2. it is an absolute bitch to move and especially across country.

My heart was lifted this week by one of the maintenance workers at the mall where we walk. We stopped to chat with him and he said that we give him hope that there are good people in the world. He said it changes his mornings because we are friendly and positive, when so many are rude and negative. I told him, the same applies, that talking to him makes a difference for us as well.

It can be a beautiful world, take time to smell the roses, connect with people. This scenario has happened on our favourite trail as well. Taking the time to brighten someone's day, while brightening your own day.

Peace, positive vibes.

My wife and I tested these out a few years back. We got tested for our numbers separately and literally got the same exact number. I'm glad we got an honest salesman because he saved us thousands that day. Others might have fudged the numbers to try to make a sale.

Have purchased 3 different bed room sets in the last 2 weeks, some other non-matching items, and still have our original set. Some of it new, some of it second hand. We have sold some of it, keeping some of it, the house is just a furniture warehouse at this point. The amount of cardboard and styrofoam used to pack the nightstands and the dressers is egregious. I've filled our trash and recycling barrels, we still have a giant pile of cardboard left, 3 full trash bags with nowhere to put them, and I still have another nightstand to unpack.

We are apparently in the furniture business now. Purchased a nightstand and dresser for 150, didnt like it, sold it within 24 hours for 240. Purchased a bed, nightstand, dresser and mirror, and tall bureau for 150...didn't like that either, will be flipping it for hopefully 500.

Also found a nightstand and a glass top desk in this house when we bought it. Already sold the nightstand for 50 and should be able to get 100 for the desk.

The trash and the furniture have taken over 4 rooms in this house.

We are on day 3 of things being closed due to ice and arctic cold. So many accidents on the highways because they simply can't treat the roads like they do in New England and other snowy states. Today is supposed to be the worst of the cold and we start warming up tomorrow. By Sunday we will be in the 60's. My ceramics class got cancelled for tonight which stinks but you can't do much if your clay and slip are frozen. At least I have another week to decide how I want to glaze and decorate my coaster set

Shein is trash. You can get good stuff at Amazon/Walmart/Target/Kohls plus try consignment stores
Guess ill see how shein is after this order. The mall here has nothing I want its all upscale. Place I was told to go is too expensive they say. I just really want some laid back 90s influenced comfortable street wear. Maybe some neon shorts. Walmart may be the place for that.
